Insurance/ Accounting /Manager

Under general direction, the Senior Client Manager is responsible for the provision of management services to a portfolio of captive insurance companies.

The Role

This role ensures strong relationships with client, regulators, captive directors and key service providers; works as part of the Client Service Team; and interacts with clients, prospects, regulators and external service providers.

Specific Responsibilities

New Business

  • Implement marketing and new business strategy

  • Take responsibility for a number of new business development projects

Insurance

  • Liaison with insurance broker and reinsurance brokers as required

  • Monitoring of exposures and risk transfer pricing within assigned portfolio

Finance/Regulatory

  • Monitoring of domicile solvency and capital requirements

  • Obtaining regulatory approval of changes to business plan

  • Obtaining board approval for underwriting decisions

  • Ensure the production of management accounts, statutory accounts and information, budgets, cash flow statements and supplementary information as required

  • Assist with the adoption of appropriate accounting practices and ensure adherence thereto

  • Manage cash requirements of the companies

  • Liaise with and monitor investment managers in respect of invested funds

  • Assist Client Service Team with coordination of board meetings

  • Action matters arising from client meetings

  • Ensure compliance with Corporate Governance

Management

  • Participate in and provide input on strategic and major operational issues; assume responsibility for a specific area of company strategy

  • Implement policies adopted by the Practice

  • Contact is maintained with all client directors and that they are advised of any developments

  • Keep Practice leadership apprised of client developments

  • Support Senior Principal in performing board insight, perspective and thought leadership as required

  • Understands importance of WEM and the WTW Code of Conduct and works to be seen as a role model in the office

The Requirements

  • 3-5 years' experience in accounting

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or related area preferred

  • CPA license a plus

  • Advanced computer skills

  • Client relationship skills

  • Project management skills

  • Advanced presentation skills

  • Can solve complex issues and will raise highly complex issues to higher level

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Japanese language a plus
