Roll Change Mechanic - Manufacturing

$2,000.00 Sign-on bonus included!

Position Summary:

Insure Bonding Mills have the correct work rolls required to complete scheduled bonds.

Responsibilities:

  • Chock and un-choke work rolls as determined by weekly bond schedules
  • Roll changes requested by bonding mill personnel.
  • Maintain Chocks are in proper working order
  • Keep an inventory of ALL work rolls
  • Manage all work rolls that require outside processing (i.e. chrome plating).
  • Notify your Supervisor or AC when rolls need to be shipped for plating
  • Communicate & coordinate roll profile priorities with roll grind personnel.
  • Communicate & coordinate any work on rolls, chocks and bearings that need to be done in the maintenance dept.
  • Super Finish journals when needed prior to roll grinding as needed
  • Grit Blast rolls for Bumper products using grit blast lath
  • Manage steel brushes for bonding mills.
  • Assemble new brushes as requested by bonding personnel.
  • Set up brand new brushes for baking at bells.
  • Dress brushes as needed
  • Order all supplies for roll change areas. This includes, but is not limited to managing inventory of all spare parts required, bronze sleeves, roller bearings, tapered bearings, locking rings, seals etc.
  • Clean area as needed
  • Fill in at mills if needed (helper).

Education and Experience:

  • High School or Equivalency Diploma
  • Experience operating related equipment

Physical Demands:

  • Heavy lifting up to 25 lbs
  • Standing up to 75% of time
