Shipping and Receiving Clerk

As part of our team, Ekso’s shipping and receiving clerk will be responsible for shipping all outbound packages as well as receiving all inbound materials. The shipping and receiving clerk must be detail oriented to ensure all transactions are completed accurately and have excellent communication skill to inform appropriate persons of shipment tracking and any receiving issues. This position will report to the Production Manager.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

SHIPPING

• Prepare packing lists and shipping labels for all shipments.
• Accurately package, label, and weigh items to be shipped and ensure proper shipment method and shipping charges.
• Load, unload, and move packages and other material as required.
• Process order shipping in ERP system, based on outbound shipments.
• Store and manage all shipping documents for record keeping.
• Code shipping invoices for processing
• Maintain the shipping schedule, coordinate with shipping companies regarding any special schedule requirements or circumstances.
• Manage shipping materials and supplies, ensure an adequate supply for operations.

RECEIVING

• Follow receiving procedure to receive inbound materials, including visual inspection of parts, physical count, and stamp/sign of packing lists
• Store and manage all stamped/signed packing lists for record keeping.
• Process purchase order receiving in ERP system
• Inspect and examine inbound materials for defects and non-conformance, and report to appropriate department
• Work with materials coordinator so goods are stored properly.
• Pack and unpack items to be stocked, and store items in an orderly and accessible manner in the stockroom in its designated inventory area
• Work with purchasing and accounting to rectify any receiving problems, such as incorrect quantities, incorrect pricing, non-conforming materials, and damage

POSITION SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience working with commercial invoices and FedEx Shipworks and UPS WorldShip applications
• 2+ years in a shipping/receiving role; preferably in a manufacturing environment
• 1+years’ experience with ERP and inventory management software, INFOR preferred
• 2+ years’ experience developing export documents including commercial invoices
• Ability to operate material-handling equipment, including a pallet jack, shrink wrap device, hand-truck, or other similar equipment, and various hand tools
• Solutions-oriented with a proactive approach to solving problems
• Keen attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to perform measurements and basic mathematical operations
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - verbal and written
• Ability to a fast-paced environment
• Must possess a high thrive in sense of urgency, initiative, and common sense
• Must demonstrate an ability to work with a diverse group of individuals

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods throughout the workday

EDUCATION:

• High school degree required or equivalent, and college degree preferred
