Job Description

Summary of Position:

Responsible for maintaining accounting procedures and systems within organization that meet regulatory and agency guidelines and practices. Responsible for oversight of HUD Accounting processes.

Background/Education Required:

Bachelor's in Accounting or closely related degree. Knowledge of PC accounting and spreadsheet software.

Physical Requirements for Position:

1. Detailed computer work

2. Sits for majority of day

Special Requirements for Position:

  1. Completion of all mandatory training sessions and medical documents required by organization and regulatory agencies.
  2. Ability to work in fast paced office, attention to detail.
  3. Additional hours may be required.

Duties & Essential Elements (not inclusive)

  1. Exchange financial and accounting information with administrative and program managers. Prepare a variety of reports including but not limited to income reporting, bank reconciliations, budgets, depreciation, etc.
  2. Maintains documentation required by HUD on program sites, obtaining information from program or other departments as needed.
  3. Communicates with HUD managers and serves as liaison to accounting department regarding issues specific to HUD programs.
  4. Submits reports and documents to HUD as scheduled, requested or required to maintain grant privileges and meet expectations.
  5. Assists in developing budgets for CRVI and HUD programs as needed.
  6. Prepares all documentation for annual rent increases and PRACS for all HUD projects
  7. Provides information for HUD audits, including explanation of variances and detailed summations of process utilized.
  8. Prepares intercompany documentation for agency audit, which may require additional hours on a seasonal basis
  9. Performs annual on-site reviews of HUD tenant documentation files to insure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  10. Prepare for agency audits and Consolidated Fiscal Report (CFR), which may require additional hours on a seasonal basis.
  • Maintain Grants Gateway, surveys and appropriate work papers as assigned
  • Perform other duties as requested or required.
