Senior Activation Manager
Job Description
The core responsibility of the Senior Activation Manager will be to manage, service and develop multiple top tier Dallas Mavericks Corporate Partner accounts. The Senior Account Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of the partner’s overall activation strategy plan, timelines and the day-to-day communication with the clients.
The Senior Activation Manager will work closely with Senior Level Management on overall activation department responsibilities while supporting other sales initiatives and as a resources for the sales staff.
To perform at a high level, this person must have great attention to detail, strong work ethic and ability to see the “big picture” to maximize the overall results for both the Mavs organization and the partner.
Essential Elements & Duties: (additional duties may be assigned)
- Manage and develop day-to-day client relationships on assigned accounts
- Lead and manage one or two key departmental business units and processes
- Mavs Gaming
- Game Night Operations
- Insights and reporting
- Playoffs
- Activation Calendar
- Inventory Management/KORE
- Serve as department liaison with other departments in the Mavs organization to ensure client obligations are achieved
- Generate ideas for new sponsorship opportunities including but not limited to in-game elements and on-court contests, retail promotions, events, website features, and community relations programs
- Manage Activation Coordinator(s) on asset implementation and game night responsibilities.
Required Qualifications:
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential element at a high level. The employee must also have the following qualifications:
Experience/Education/Skills:
- 6+ years of previous activation/account management experience with a professional sports team and/or agency required
- College Degree (Sport Marketing/Advertising/Marketing ideal)
- Experience and knowledge of sales tactics, client management and activation
- Computer knowledge: MS Office products, KORE, Digideck, Salesforce, MS Dynamics.
- Attention to detail is critical
Other Skills/Competencies:
- Strong organization and strong communication skills – writing skills are especially important
- Ability to properly prioritize and multi-task
- Must be able to work with many a wide range of people
- Be comfortable working in an intense and fast paced environment
- Time management
Physical Requirements:
- Able to work all home games and sponsored special events – including nights, weekends and holidays
- Able to stand and be on your feet for extended periods of time
Environment Work Conditions:
Normal office environment. No unusual circumstances.
