Democratizing Philanthropy Project is an independent and publicly-supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is separate from Daily Kos. DPP leverages Daily Koss technology, services, and other resources at cost to carry out DPPs charitable purpose.

The {apply below}exists to shift power to chronically underfunded, BIPOC-led organizations working on the frontlines by helping them build long-term, reliable small donor revenue and an activist base that will respond to calls to action. Nonprofits are overly dependent on grant-based, restricted purpose income, yet {apply below} and {apply below} have unlocked power from diverse, democratized revenue streams from small donors. The Democratizing Philanthropy Project seeks to help hundreds of frontline, BIPOC-led, state power building organizations access and maximize this powerful capital.


DPP is hiring an experienced and passionate Program Manager to support organizational operations. The Program Manager is responsible for supporting multiple aspects of the Democratizing Philanthropy Project, including managing communication and timelines for all cohorts, providing support to our partners and participants, building program training materials, decks, and supporting our regular cohort evaluations.

Responsibilities:

  • Program support: Provide support for our programs from start to finish; support our partners to ensure they have what they need to succeed; manage all calendars, timelines, and workshops; work toward program goals based on the organizations strategic objectives; effectively troubleshoot any problems or challenges as they arise.
  • Proposals and reports: Lead support on ensuring our Executive Director has information they need about our cohorts, programs, participants, and budgets and provide support as needed on proposals and reports to our funder partners.
  • Industry knowledge: Remain knowledgeable about key industry issues and trends and maintain a strong understanding of the competitive landscape, challenges and opportunities;
  • Data management: Regularly evaluate program success based on data and results.
  • Participant experience: Managing multiple cohort participants and our partners to ensure a high quality experience with the DPP cohorts and programs; ensure programs meet our participant needs and objectives. Manage surveys and feedback to keep improving program
  • Budget management: Manage program budgets to ensure each cohort and workshop stays on budget.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years prior experience in program design, implementation, management, and execution ideally in small donor or revenue generating work with nonprofit organizations

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable with primary communications via Slack and video conferencing tools
  • Demonstrated leadership and entrepreneurial skills and strong sense of ownership for success with our programs
  • Strategic mindset
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Proactive, effective relationship-building with all participants, funders, partners, and experience managing external partnerships
  • Ability to manage and track cohorts and programs to fit within established budgets
  • Capable of meeting tight deadlines and effectively manage projects
  • Be tech and internet savvy. We use Slack, Google Docs, Google Classroom, Asana, and lots of other tools that make work life easier.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000

This position is a 40 hour/week, full-time, exempt position and reports to the Interim Executive Director. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
