Job Description
Technician: Engineering Laboratory - IV
Duration: 6 months
Location: Hillsboro, OR Onsite only.
Work within ***'s Test Strategy and Technology Development Group (TSTD) whose core charter is the design and development of cutting edge modular testers which have become ***'s primary tester of choice and are utilized by *** worldwide.
Candidate would be responsible for technical functions in support of design engineering activities such as power on plan execution, electrical troubleshooting, debug and fault isolation, solder station rework, bug tracking, data collection, validation plan execution and debug, and general assembly, modification, and rework of complex electromechanical systems.
Additional duties include lab inventory management, test equipment calibration tracking, and supporting general lab activities. *
***Responsible for material handling functions throughout the lab. Tracking, monitoring inventory reports to ensure accuracy of tester health and physical location. Monitoring and controlling inventory movements.
** Ideal candidate will be mostly EE/SW skills centric
Regularly audit, update and report inventory variances. Receive, distribute and ship tester hardware and materials. Maintain and organize hardware storage area. Collaborates with lab personnel to prepare and maintain spare parts inventory. Proactively initiates reconciliation of inventory discrepancies and communicate lab purchasing needs. Ensures compliance with storage and inventory procedures.
Candidate must exhibit the following behavioral traits/skills: Attention to detail, Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision in a team environment, Multitask and work in a fast paced and fluid environment, Verbal and written communication skills with a disciplined approach to problem solving in a fast pace design/development environment.
" Qualifications:
" Candidate must possess an AA or AS Degree or technical certification in Mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in electronic fundamentals or Bachelor's Degree in the same field. 1+ years of experience in Microsoft Office Applications
Highly Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of general technician experience.
" MS computer skills (OneNote, Excel, Word, Outlook).
" 3D CAD modeling using Solid works/Creo for prototyping
" 2D manufacturing drawing creation
" CNC machine tool programming/operation
" Drill press/lathe operation
" Advanced PCB soldering/rework, Troubleshooting and debug experience.
" Schematic and PCB layout Cadence tool experience.
" Direct experience with the assembly and disassembly of computer/server systems and subsystems (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, etc.)
" Use of Lab test equipment (thermocouple assembly and data collection, pressure, flow gauges, air/water leak testing, power supplies).
" SPEED BOM use
" Electro mechanical system validation and troubleshooting including electrical circuits
" 3D printing operation and prototyping
" Windows OS, system BIOS configuration, and firmware programming.
" Lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, electronic loads, digital multimeters, logic Analyzers, network analyzers, power supplies, etc).
" Knowledge of Python to edit and execute python scripts needed to validate hardware.
