OPEN CONTRACT - Software Engineer - (Jira/Bitbucket/Git/REST APIs with either Java or Python)

LOCATION: HYBRID
Job reports to the Fairfield Connecticut office

• Candidate will work from home 3 days per week and work 2 days per week on site in Fairfield Connecticu

CUSTOMER: Major Financial Trading Technology Firm

POSITION:

• The Software Deployment Optimization team is seeking a Software Engineer to join and facilitate transition from one Agile tool chain to another. The ideal candidate will be an engineer who is self-motivated, willing to learn new skills and support transition to new and industry standard software development tool chains.

• Our customer is currently using IBM rational team concert.. agile, ethics features tool .. We need a candidate expert at identifying defects etc.. SOURCE CODE management. code management.. test plans... JIRA and Bit Bucket is being integrated together(Jira is taking place of the IBM rtc Tool) (bit Bucket is the code management tool)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish software repositories, assist in analysis and organization of repositories
• Design and customize Jira Issues as necessary
• Migrate to RTC to Jira
• Source code management.
• Develop, and execute, extraction of existing issues in legacy tools and import into new tools via APIs
• Assist in the organization of projects and Agile Kanban and reporting
• Be a team player by helping others to achieve team and company goals.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• HANDS ON Experience with Jira/Bitbucket and Git. Administration skills preferred
• Able to build consensus organizing projects, someone with project experience. (knows the process)
• Able to Migrate to RTC to Jira
• Experience with Java and/or Python languages (can be just Java or just Python don’t need both)
• Experience developing REST based APIs
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Excellent team player with a consistently positive attitude and collaborative approach to problem solving.

EDUCATION:

• Degree in Computer and Network Technology or Degree in Computer Science or Similar equivalent is desirable but not essential.
• Preferred BSEE/BSCS
