Robert Half is seeking a Product Manager III who directs, designs, and implements a comprehensive product management strategy in a collaborative environment. Functions as the central resource in partnership with design, IT, quality and test, and marketing as the product(s) move to completion and distribution. Influences those involved in the design, modification, and evaluation of all phases of a specific product or group of products from product definition through production and release (i.e., Product Lifecycle Management). Ensures that products released meet specifications and quality goals. Encourages use of new technologies and industry-leading trends in product management activities. Responsible for overall product(s) and project teams, including influencing the prioritization of projects and associated budgets. Develops project plans designed to address customer needs and available team resources.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Oversees product strategy and roadmap for Salesforce Marketing Cloud, in service of the delivery of marketing and product goals to increase revenue. Partners with the Marketing, Product and Analytics teams to develop and execute marketing innovation and improvements.
- Oversees all product strategy and roadmap development. Ensures organizational alignment and project prioritization based on a sophisticated understanding of business objectives. Thoroughly understands the needs of customers, evaluates market trends and competition, and uses this information to determine what features to build. Clearly communicates those objectives, along with feedback on product strategy, to team members. Develops and monitors key metrics / KPIs and targets, developing plans to achieve those targets and proactively communicating progress to a variety of stakeholders. Ensures that the delivered product meets or exceeds the internal customer’s needs and business objectives. Establishes a compelling vision for the product or a general framework for making product decisions.
- Oversees the development of product requirement definition and feature identification, including documentation of prioritized feature sets. Uses cases based on internal customer needs and business value, revising cases as needed. Educates the team on recommendations, using influence to guide discussions to consensus and drive action items. Leads brainstorming of creative solutions and problem-solving to balance product deliverables and resources with business needs, contributing substantial knowledge of these areas to the discussion.
- Ensures that customer data of all kinds is translated into product/service definitions and product marketing plans that anticipate the customer’s current and future needs. Draws on substantial experience to represent the voice of the customer to the team throughout the product lifecycle. Consistently works to discover potential weaknesses as well as opportunities to produce products that meet or exceed customer expectations. Uncovers and evaluates customer trends through benchmarking, active networking, research of online forums, user feedback, and internal customer interaction. Prioritizes and communicates most important trends to team members. Oversees the definition of product features and related schedules, writing of specifications based on internal user needs and business cases, and creation of wireframes, prototypes, test plans, release checklists. Clearly communicates functionality and incorporates feedback.
- Uses expert knowledge and insight to help the team estimate, implement, and build features while ensuring that work focuses on the highest priority projects. Represents the team as an expert source in communication with product, IT, and marketing leadership. Periodically reviews workflows. Seeks ways to improve teamwork, product quality, and efficiency and oversees implementation of those strategies. Uses influence and expertise to promote an atmosphere of cohesiveness and focused collaboration between all the members of the team in the interest of driving the product forward.
- Oversees design teams in developing best practice customer-facing experiences that drive awareness, conversion, engagement, and business best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, design, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience
- 7+ years product management experience required, preferably with business application systems
- Experience in an IT department or related field preferred
- Ability to interact and communicate with customers of varying levels of expertise
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to less technical users
- Ability to communicate in-depth business processes to technical resources
- Ability to create very complex process flow diagrams or flowcharts that demonstrate business or system process flow D33
- Ability to gather and synthesize requirements effectively; document requirements and confirm observations with business owners
- Ability to perform fit/gap analysis based on requirements
- Ability to create detailed and complex test plans for medium-sized initiatives
- Ability to prioritize job responsibilities
- Demonstrated customer service abilities
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Knowledge of business systems software
- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle
- Ability to develop and manage multiple enterprise-wide project plans, meetings established deliverables and timelines
