Position Overview:
Reporting to the Chief Corporate Development Officer, the Corporate DevelopmentManagerwill help shape and execute strategic growth opportunities that include joint ventures, licensing partnerships and acquisitions. Corporate Development is chartered to support the executive office in driving corporate initiatives, including near and long-term strategy, major cross-group decision making and ensuring cross-company alignment. The position is located in Alameda, CA, but may possibly be remote.

Job Responsibilities:
- Identify, investigate, and analyze opportunities that align with Terviva strategic vision.
- Conduct rigorous market and financial analysis including market assessment, business case, synergies, build vs. buy modeling, ROI etc. to provide detailed guidance and scenarios into potential acquisitions and other strategic opportunities, and provide input into deal valuations.
- Prepare and communicate opportunities effectively to executive management and the Board.
- Work cross-functionally to help make Corporate Development a trusted strategic partner to business group leaders and their teams, and proactively and effectively influence existing business strategies and growth initiatives.
- The Corporate Development Manager will play a critical role in all phases including structuring, due diligence, negotiation, and execution. They will also gain broad exposure to all facets of a transaction and interact across the organization with leadership and partners. As such, we are seeking an experienced and talented individual with extensive deal experience and a blend of deep analytical mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
Experience & Education:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, technology, business or related. MBA a plus.
- 8+ years of professional business experience including:
- 5+ years of experience in corporate strategy, corporate development, finance, management consulting, investment banking, and / or equivalent experience (e.g., scaling a business).
- Knowledge in agriculture, food and / or cleantech.
- Deal experience with significant complexity (e.g. JVs, R&D partnerships, acquisitions).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization skills with ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- A team player possessing strong interpersonal skills with an ability to develop positive working relationships and communicate with all levels of management.
