Description

ADI’s Wireless Systems Group is seeking an RF Systems engineer with strong Software Defined Radio (SDR) experience to join our wireless platforms team. Possessing advanced and practical knowledge of wireless radio architecture, and integrated circuit capabilities, you will work with ADIs team of system hardware engineers, system architects, technology teams, and lead customers to develop and validate system platforms that demonstrate ADI’s industry leadership and technology in 5G, mmW, and O-RAN solutions.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop next generation base station radio platforms (from bits to antenna) that serve as customer reference designs for deployments such as 5G, 5G mmW, O-RAN, and beyond.
  • Support customers on latest O-RAN System Designs.
  • Work in close collaboration with a cross-functional team of Engineers such as System Architects, System Designers, FPGA, Software, Algorithms, Partners, Strategic Marketing and Lead Customers to understand application problems, propose and justify new hardware solutions
  • Work with ADI’s technology teams to understand their latest generation products and incorporate these into new system hardware designs. Provide feedback on the experience with these products in order to improve next generation designs.
  • Work with ADI’s Wireless Comms System Software and FPGA teams to define tools that ease the configuration of the hardware and optimize the customer experience when developing with these platforms.

Qualifications

Candidate Credentials

BS/MS/pHD in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent education/experience combination combined with

  • Transceiver and Software Defined Radio system experience.
  • Proficient in software programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, C, .NET, etc. for configuration of software defined radios, lab automation, and algorithm development and verification.
  • Strong understanding of basic radio system trade-offs such as gain, NF, non-linear distortions, phase noise, impedance mismatch, etc.
  • Strong understanding of the building blocks of radio systems.
  • Data converter (ADCs/DACs), Transceiver, Mixers, PLLs, RF and/or microwave hardware design experience.
  • Knowledge of 5G Physical Layer a plus
  • Self-motivated, willing to take on challenges, and aggressive at driving for results even under pressure.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful collaboration with colleagues and customers, across globally complex organizations and environments.
  • An enquiring, flexible attitude to work and learning.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm, and a solid work ethic are valued more than any particular skill.

Willingness to travel locally and internationally ~10%.
