Sales Manager - Furniture
Primarily responsible for developing and leading a dynamic furniture team and driving top-line furniture sales. Accountable for the furniture department’s overall performance, including the achievement/improvement of furniture sales metrics, building customer relationships, and maintaining furniture merchandising, presentation, and recovery standards. Works collaboratively with store leadership to accomplish operational goals and tasks to help drive overall store performance. When serving as Manager on Duty, leads and provides direction to store associates performing all cashiering, customer service, recovery, and furniture-related activities on the sales floor.
1. Leads and directs the activities of the furniture department and is responsible for the operational performance of the department, including the consistent achievement/improvement of furniture sales and related processes, customer service, and merchandising and presentation standards.
2. Provides superior service in assisting customers with product, service, and payment option information, recommendations, selection, purchase, and merchandise carry-outs.
3. Utilizes clienteling techniques to build customer relationships.
4. Provides in-depth coaching to furniture sales team members regarding all aspects of the sales process and transaction procedures and ensures the team is knowledgeable and articulate regarding our product details, competing product comparisons, services, and payment options.
5. Leads, assists, and provides clear work direction to the furniture team in the implementation and maintenance of furniture programs, merchandising and presentation standards, stocking and warehousing products, signing, recovery, and display assembly.
6. Manages and ensures the accurate maintenance, audit, and reporting of furniture related records including furniture inventory, price holds, special orders, customer pick-ups, etc.
7. Develops plans for furniture department coverage during special events.
8. Works in collaboration with store management to interview, select, and hire furniture team associates and assists in cross-functional associate training. May complete performance evaluations as directed.
9. Serves in the Manager on Duty role as needed. When serving in this role, provides leadership and direction to floor associates and ensures that store, merchandising, and customer service standards are continuously met, including merchandise presentation, signage, recovery, and cleanliness. Drives the customer experience and ensures resolution of customer issues. This may include opening and closing the store on a limited basis.
