This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join our Retail Intelligence team. The Senior Director, Retail Analytics will lead our global Retail Intelligence team and be responsible for developing key data and analytic products and services across Foot Locker’s value chain to help us transform into a data driven organization. This role will lead the team responsible for enabling and optimizing Foot Locker’s data and analytic needs across planning, buying, merchandising, supply chain, store planning and operations, finance, and HR business functions. In this role, you will partner with key business executives to identify, build, and manage a diverse portfolio of best-in-class products and services including data, reporting, ad-hoc analytics, and advanced analytics. You will have a maniacal focus on driving business value, actively seeking innovative solutions, and identifying strategic opportunities for data and analytics to reduce costs and/or grow revenue for Foot Locker. You will be an evangelizer of data and analytics helping Foot Locker transform into a more data driven organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead Data & Analytics for our Strategy, Merchandising, Store, Supply Chain Management, HR, and Finance business functions. Product owner for all data, reporting, ad-hoc analytics, and advanced analytic products across these business functions.
- Partner cross functionally with key executive leaders within the organization to leverage data in new and innovate ways to drive actionable insights and business value.
- Manage a team of analysts that deliver insights to the organization that inform data driven business strategies and actionable outcomes.
- Lead teams of cross functional data and analytic professionals (engineers, scientists, analysts, business stakeholders, etc.) in the design, development, and management of data and analytic products that can scale and flex to satisfy multiple different use cases.
- Provide thought leadership and guidance to the Foot Locker data strategy.
- Design and manage frameworks to enable self-service and exploratory analytics for internal team members and key business stakeholders.
- Establish and enforce data management and governance frameworks inclusive of data and KPI definitions, data catalogs, and access controls to drive standardization and usability.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree required with an emphasis in Computer Science, Business Administration, Statistics, Information Science, Business Intelligence, Analytics, or related field preferred.
- Masters Degree, a plus
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in analytics or related data analytics field with most recent experience in leading a team of data analytic professionals.
- Has a demonstrated history of building and/or managing high-performing analytics teams that drive actionable insights and measurable value from data.
- Analytical problem-solver who can find coherent patterns in incoherent data sets. Experience working with large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources.
- Strong executive presence and ability to work cross-functionally, building and maintaining trust with internal stakeholders.
- High level of attention to detail, quality, and effective verbal and written communication skills along with excellent follow-through.
- Proven team builder and leader with track record of developing and promoting employees.
- Knowledge of AI and ML modeling techniques and collaborating with Data Scientists to deliver innovate solutions to complex business problems.
- Working knowledge of data mining and modeling principles: predictive analytics, mapping, collecting data from multiple data systems on premises and cloud-based data sources, etc.
- Experience working within agile delivery framework.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, intermediate knowledge of Python.
- Proficient using at least one data visualization product (Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, etc.).
- Experience in retail or other related industry is a plus.
