Grocery Manager Role:
The Grocery Manager oversees the sales and profits of the grocery department while maintaining product levels and best merchandising practices in accordance with company standards. Works closely with department personnel on daily operations and promotes customer service.
Strong discipline on proper product rotation to ensure freshness.
Maintains clean, safe, and sanitary working and shopping environment.
Order merchandise to maintain freshness and stock levels.
Strong product merchandising skills.
Utilizing daily sales data to reduce shrink by proper production output.
Daily management of labor – actual vs. budget.
Understand and use company reporting tools including financial, inventory, scheduling, and ordering.
Use detailed reports on sales, profits, and trends to make purchasing decisions.
Hire, train and develop department employees.
Adhere to all state, local and company policies and regulations on health and safety.
Work with leadership to execute and promote company directives and promotions/campaigns.
Frequently required to open/close the store. Ensures the safety of customers and employees as well as fiscal management of cash and monetary assets.
Provides customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and properly responding to comments or concerns.
Grocery Manager Background Profile:
High school Diploma or GED and three or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
Minimum of 18 years of age required.
Manager Food Safety certification required or be obtained in 90 days of employment.
Weekend availability required.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
