IT Help Desk Technician
About the Role
As the IT Help Desk Technician, your primary focus will be performing day-to-day maintenance and repairs, including software and computer installations and upgrades, security maintenance, troubleshooting, training, and technical support for all users and projects of the organization. In this role, the successful individual will protect Brivos critical information, systems, assets, build solutions, implement new software and hardware, provide training, and assist in the development of an overall IT strategy.
You will also be expected to:
Respond to help desk requests by assisting with troubleshooting, identifying a root cause, and providing technical support
Conduct technical provisioning of hardware and mobile devices for new and existing users, including reimaging computers and installing software Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly
Monitor datacenter health using preexisting management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers as needed
Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups
Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues our users encounter
Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
Install and test computer-related equipment
About You
3-5 years of help desk and customer service experience
Proven work experience in IT
Ability to install, configure and maintain laptop and desktop computers, networks and related hardware and software
Proficiency in MacOS and iOS
Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on software knowledge, installation, security, and use
Possess a solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking
In-depth knowledge of and experience with Active Directory, Cisco Networking equipment, VMWare, and CrashPlan
Experience using client management tools to automate and centrally manage assets in an enterprise environment
Broad familiarity with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, etc.)
Experience managing domains, DNS and Group Policy Administration
Knowledge of Data Loss Prevention methodologies and tools
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Skills
Self-starter with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, flexibility, good judgment, and the ability to coordinate multiple, concurrent tasks in an effective manner
Experience with or knowledge of programming languages and operating systems; current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, system performance-monitoring tools, active directories, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching
Experience in project management, application design and integration, and cloud computing
Expertise in creating, analyzing, and repairing large-scale distributed systems
Advanced knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues
Professional certifications
Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
