Based in Riverhead, NY, our locations manufacture specialty tape and pressure sensitive adhesives for various industries including medical, energy and transportation. Responsibilities

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible forsupporting the Human Resources Manager and Plant Leadership team in all facets of HR, including but not limited to policy implementation, recruiting, payroll and benefits, employee relations and development. This is an on-site position located in Riverhead, NY.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Administer various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assist in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures

  • Perform HR duties including but not limited to payroll activities, benefit administration, FMLA and other leave of absence administration, records maintenance/management, attendance, unemployment claims, and general reporting and data entry.

  • Leads new hire orientation

  • Promote positive employee relations and develop employee recognition/event programs

  • Provide coaching and counsel to employees and advise on conflict resolution and appropriate disciplinary measures

  • Conducts weekly and bi-weekly payroll processes and management of HRIS

  • Conduct recruitment effort for all hourly, exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees; conduct new-employee orientations; monitor career pathing program, write and place advertisements

  • Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continuous improvements in the efficiency of HR department and services performed

  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment

  • Other relevant duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field; PHR/SPRH and/or SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred with 3+ years in a human resources role

  • Bilingual English/Spanish

  • Solid knowledge of current employment laws and contemporary practices in all areas of HR

  • High proficiency level with MS Office applications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality

  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to meet deadlines and complete multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to work independently with emphasis on attention to accuracy and detail

  • Must exhibit the characteristics of a positive role model, action oriented, and continuous improvement mindset

  • Travel up to 20% to assigned (plant) locations
