Summary:
This position is part of our corporate human resources team embedded within our Environmental Management business unit, serving as a liaison between the business unit and corporate HR. Primary responsibilities will be related to supporting our staffing functions from posting positions through integration, creating and maintaining a consistent and positive experience for candidates and staff. The human resources generalist will participate in ongoing processes and initiatives that support business and human resource strategies. This position requires an unwavering commitment to internal and external client service, attention to detail and accuracy, teamwork orientation, ability to multitask, and comfort with both redundant and ambiguous tasks.
The HR generalist acts as a consultant to the business unit staffing coordinator and carries out HR functions as part of a team of engineers, scientists, and other HR professionals.

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $56,000-$63,000/year. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus. Responsibilities include:
- Recruiting and staffing - Partnering with business leaders and technical staff to identify staffing needs; evaluating and recommending methods of sourcing and recruiting candidates; developing job postings; screening resumes; coordinating interviews and interviewing, evaluating, and selecting candidates as part of a team; delivering offers; assisting with new employee integration; and fulfilling the role of intern coordinator for the business unit.
- Employee relations- Acting as a point of contact for staff questions, interpreting HR policies to advise staff, and escalating issues to the staffing team
- Human resource business unit administration - Coordinating new employee integration and supporting talent management documentation and communication, as well as business unit data analysis and reporting. Supporting the business unit human resource functions such as creating power points, newsletters, calendaring, and communications.
- Corporate HR initiatives and projects - Participating in HR projects, such as employee engagement, evaluating business unit data and metrics, learning and development, benchmarking and analyzing industry and competitive practices, DEI, or other.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related area
- At least one year of post-college human resources work experience or successful completion of a human resources internship
- Problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to apply judgment and initiative in HR-related activities
- Diplomatic, with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong client-service focus and willingness to adjust approach and persevere to gain buy-in from key stakeholders and deliver results
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and negotiate deadlines with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to shift priorities and focus as business needs dictate
- Knowledge of employment law
- Strong computer skills with special expertise with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
- Acceptable driving record
- Acceptable criminal background check result
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of related experience in human resources
- Strong interest and aptitude for gathering, analyzing, reporting, and portraying data in a concise format
- Exposure to HRIS and applicant tracking systems
- Experience providing data and business insight to support recommendations
- Experience with engineering, manufacturing, professional service, or consulting firms with an emphasis on technical recruiting for engineering, scientist, technician roles
