Communications Officer - Security

Responsible for and assists with all communication duties essential for the protection of patients, public, staff and
hospital property. Train new personnel in the functions of a communications technician. In-service employees on
procedural changes. Answers phones, monitors alarm systems, CCTV and dispatches officers as required. Monitors
flow of traffic in ER drive and responds to it appropriately. Process identification badges and completes data entry into
the Security Services productivity monitoring system. Reports to Supervisor, Security Services Kennestone Hospital.

Required Minimum Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

Required Minimum Experience: 1 year previous dispatch/communication experience preferred.

Required Minimum Skills: Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Data entry skills necessary to complete
incident reports, identification badges and related documents. Public relations skills necessary to communicate
effectively with the public in a courteous, professional and tactful manner. Must be able to accept responsibility,
manage authority and maintain confidentiality.
