Utility Locator - Job Description

We are currently seeking resumes from qualified Utility Locator for our Las Vegas, Nevada office. The essential functions of this role will be to perform field labor and minor maintenance tasks. Field labor includes performing vacuum excavation and utility designation tasks. These tasks include operation excavation equipment, documenting finds in the field and various office tasks.

Duties:

  • Drives Equipment trucks
  • Operates Vacuum Excavation equipment and tools
  • Fills out field forms and daily work logs
  • Performs minor maintenance on tools and equipment

Utility Locator - Required Skills:

  • Entry level position, one (1) year of Subsurface Utility Engineering experience is preferred
  • Basic computer skills, which includes MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Be familiar with electronic utility locating techniques and equipment
  • Be able to pass a drug screening and background check
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and evenings
  • Ability to travel to multiple work sites and occasional out-of-own travel
  • Ability to lift 95 pounds
  • Be able to handle certain construction equipment including 95 pound pavement breaker
  • Ability to walk two miles
  • Ability to work outside for over six hours at a time
  • Will need the ability to establish rapport quickly with others working on the same project and be able to promote a positive team environment. The right candidate will have a working knowledge of dealing with a diverse population while using tact, diplomacy, and respect.
