2nd Shift Operations Manager, Samples Department

Job Duties

• Responsible for daily activities of the manufacturing production areas to ensure the timely assembly of product
• Train, mentor, coach and develop Manufacturing Techs and Group Leaders
• Lead and inspire staff to meet production, quality and safety objectives
• Conduct performance appraisals, promotions, reward/recognition and disciplinary actions where appropriate for direct reports
• Deploy Lean Manufacturing techniques to increase/sustain productivity, throughput, safety and customer satisfaction
• Utilize statistical process control (SPC) to monitor production processes, reduce variability, and improve product quality
• Perform or facilitate investigations into statistically significant events
• Identify root cause of nonconformance and recommend corrective and preventative actions to eliminate reoccurrence
• Perform verification of completed corrective and preventative actions
• Coordinate with the Production Planners and Warehouse staff to ensure timely movement of materials to and from the production area
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is preferred
• 3+ years experience in a production environment
• 2+ yeas in production environment is preferred
• Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
• Project Management skills are desirable
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with management, staff and other departments
• Experience in using material management and production controlled systems, preferably SAP
• Mechanical aptitude for general maintenance of equipment desired
