Design Aids & Automation Engineering Professional
Background:
Be part of a dynamic and skilled Research team developing test structure design enablement for the world's most advanced semiconductor technologies. Develop Synopsys ICValidator (ICV) code based on process/patterning team requirements to assist in post-design shape manipulation as part of the mask release process using industry standard (EDA) tools. Ensure high quality final design data by creating post-manipulation checking analogous to Design Rule Checking (DRC). Close and frequent cooperation with other development engineers will be required.
Job Duties:
Develop ICV 'retargeting' code that will manipulate and modify post-design layout prior to mask release.
Develop ICV post-retargeting checking code (analogous to DRC) to verify post-retargeted shapes after design manipulation meet all requirements.
Work closely with the patterning and process development engineers to understand the required 'retargeting' shape manipulations. Ensure resultant post-retargeted designs meet the intent of the process & patterning engineers.
Debug and solve problems in a team environment.
Basic Skills, clearances and other elements required, in order of importance, and number of years' experience, where applicable, in each skill:
Strong experience with coding in Synopsys ICV language, at least 3 years.
Strong experience using the Cadence Virtuoso layout design tool or other EDA layout design tool, at least 3 years.
Strong understanding of physical layout, technology ground rules, and semiconductor processing.
Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
Ability to debug errors and solve problems.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Fluent English (both verbal and written) and strong communication skills.
Preferred location is Albany, NY. Alternative location: remote location.
Other Skills Desired, Years in each skill, where applicable:
Preferred: Experience with advanced sub-micron semiconductor technology nodes.
Preferred: Experience with python coding
Preferred: Experience with automation server tools such as Jenkins.
