Consolidation & International Reporting Staff Accountant

A real estate firm in New York City is actively seeking a driven and analytical professional to join their staff as their new Consolidation & International Reporting Staff Accountant. In this role, the Consolidation & International Reporting Staff Accountant will determine different accounting treatments regarding how an asset should be consolidated based upon ownership structure.

Responsibilities

The Consolidation & International Reporting Staff Accountant will:
  • Close the books and records for the holding company
  • Review underlying assets for reasonability
  • Perform consolidation of portfolio assets, including rolling equity and ensuring all eliminations work properly
  • Prepare financial schedules
  • Analyze the information and investigate variances in order to communicate upward
  • Exhibit strong excel skills to analyze data from multiple sources in order to determine what is driving fluctuations
  • Establish and maintain interdepartmental relationships

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Familiarity with IFRS accounting and concepts such as recording assets at fair value and straight-line rent
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to use complex formulas for data analytics
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly organized
  • Strong attention to detail
Desired skills
  • CPA or MBA
  • 4+ years of relevant experience working in a real-estate preferred.
  • Yardi or MRI experience
  • Exposure to waterfalls
