SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION:
Assists the Maintenance Department in keeping the buildings and grounds clean and healthy according to safety standards.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in the interior and exterior janitorial needs, building maintenance, and ground keeping assignments.
- Assists in moving furniture, equipment, or fixtures as required.
- Assists in the repair or replacement of doors, windows, walls, flooring, and other wooden structure.
- Assists in the repair or replacement of plumbing, electrical wiring, heating, air condition systems, lights, control switches, and other electrical items.
- Assists with the planting, pruning, fertilizing, and transplanting of flowers, shrubs, trees, and bushes etc.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge of methods, tools, materials and equipment used in grounds and maintenance work.
- Knowledge of methods and techniques of mowing, edging, pruning and trimming.
- Ability to properly use of cleaning products and equipment
- Capable of following verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read and understand labels and directions
- Proficient in the use of computer software such as MSWord, Excel and Outlook, etc.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
- One year of custodial experience
OTHER:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

- Reading, writing and communicating fluently in English

- Seeing to read labels, posters, documents, PC screens, etc.
- Sitting, standing, climbing, moving about or walking for occasional or frequent periods of time
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other equipment and tools
- Kneeling, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching overhead
- Retrieving and storing files and supplies; occasionally carrying and/or lifting light to moderately heavy objects
WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Exposure to dust, chemicals, cleaning products, variances in temperatures and equipment with moving parts
