Job Responsibilities

  • Success in this position requires independently managing projects delivering sales, marketing and managed markets solutions. Familiarity with the application of data analytics to sales and marketing problems such as:

  • Sales force effectiveness, sales operations & Field Intelligence
  • Brand Performance Management, Marketing Effectiveness & Impact Analysis, Promotional sensitivity, and correlation analysis
  • Payer Account Management, Managed Markets Pull-Thru Analysis, Contracting Analysis
  • Patient fulfilment journey, specialty pharmacy & patient hub effectiveness and performance analysis
  • Patient claims data processing, analysis, and visualization
  • Analytics to support quarterly business review meetings with executive leadership
  • Misc.: Supply chain and trade analytics, HCA-HCP affiliations and referral landscape analysis

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Independently leads medium sized projects delivering complex data analysis, visualization & BI solutions.
  • Client Management: Leads discussions with client on project updates, risks, issues and is able to orchestrate project across cross functional stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Leverages best practices in project management – project planning & tracking, risk identification, management & communication, task planning, delegation and monitoring, etc.
  • Technology – Independently you should be able to design, implement deliver complex reporting, analytics and self-service BI project assignments on Power BI & other BI technologies
  • Requirements Gathering – Should be able to engage client business as well as IT stakeholders to understand the reporting requirements and be able to convert them in mock-ups to get requirements sign-off.
  • Technical Design and Development – Good hands-on experience and expertise in BI tools viz. Tableau or Power BI is mandatory for the candidate to effectively design the BI solutions.
  • Optimization – Expert knowledge of SQL with the capability to performance tune complex SQL queries in traditional RDBMS systems is must. Optimizing performance of dashboarding solution based on key requirements for e.g. size of data, # of users, etc.
  • Task Management – Should be able to drive the day-to-day tasks in alignment with the project plan and collaborate with team to accomplish milestones as per plan. Should be comfortable in discussing and prioritizing work items in an onshore-offshore model.
  • Logical Thinking – Able to think analytically, use a systematic and logical approach to analyse data, problems, and situations.
  • Team Management: Supervise, coach & train fresh graduates as well as experienced technical & business analysts.

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of work experience across BI, Lifesciences commercial analytics, operations and data management
  • Masters in Operations Research / Mathematics / Analytics / MIS / Other quantitative discipline
  • Relevant expertise in using analytic tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx, and able to quickly master new packages when needed.
  • Experience of working in pharmaceutical commercial function (sales, marketing, patient support, payer, managed markets) for 3-4 years.
  • Able to lead requirement workshops, business rules discussions & document business requirements with right technical details.
  • Should have good experience in data visualization, dashboard design, development and operations process.
  • Having knowledge of data/ technical design & performance optimization techniques is a plus.
  • Experience with DBs/data processing tech. like Oracle, SQL, Redshift, Python, etc. is required.
  • Working knowledge of MS Suite (excel, ppt, word).
  • Detail orientation is required to be successful in this role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication is critical.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (computer science is preferred)
  • MBA / Master’s Degree is plus
