As the Material Handler you will handle, move, and store materials/product, ensuring safety, accuracy, and area goals are met
Material Handling:
- Loads and unloads product/materials to and from production areas, delivery trucks, and designated storage areas timely and accurately.
- Prepares and places material received to its proper storage location/area, utilizing forklift, safely, accurately, and timely.
- Learns the production process to understand product flow and movement.
- Assists all departments on shift as needed.
The job criteria may include other duties, responsibilities, and activities, which may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Position Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred; may consider equivalent course work with proven experience for the right individual.
- Experience: 2-3+ years' experience in shipping and receiving, prior forklift experience maneuvering large loads in tight spaces, as well as loading and unloading trucks, etc.
- Certification(s): Forklift certification.
- Functional Skills: Ability to handle and operate warehouse/materials equipment; high attention to detail with an ability to read and understand documents, procedures, and specifications. Good math skills with an ability to count parts/product and verify shipments. This role also requires strong prioritization skills, as well as an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment to meet department goals.
- Technology Aptitude/Skills: Good computer skills with an ability to enter data into ERP system. Prior ERP experience helpful.
- Language Skills: Good verbal and basic written communication skills.
- Leadership/Behaviors: High Safety minded with a strong work ethic and values, focused on the customer, quality, and accuracy, takes the time to do things right yet is flexible to cross-train and move to other priorities throughout the department.
- Culture of the area: Ambitious, conscientious, likes to work in a team environment with the ability to collaborate with others. A person who can listen to others, learn quickly, and be independent to get the job done.
