Inspect Aircraft Assembly and Modification with Security Clearance

Description:May be required to inspect associated structural components in relation to normal job activities. Inspects and approves continuity checks and pressure testing operations. Inspects spot-welded parts and assemblies for workmanship, contour, cracks, faults, edge distance, and spots in radii. Inspects spares material, parts and components, subassemblies for workmanship, completeness, modifications and/or deletions. Submits periodic samplings of sealing compounds for laboratory testing and is responsible for ensuring the use of only those materials that have been certified as conforming to specifications. Inspects the installation of rivets, bolts, screws and other types of fasteners for cracks, edge distance and conformance to specifications. Inspects the application of all types of sealants. Inspects spot-welded parts and assemblies. Inspects and approves major mockups of entire structure, hydraulic, plumbing, controls, rigging, electrical and other functional systems for conformance to applicable specifications. Inspects and approves finishes, coatings and product appearance to meet engineering requirements. Must obtain and maintain certifications required by the Company, customer or by law.
Basic Qualifications:
Must be able to read and interoperate blue prints/drawings Must have a minimum of two years of experience or equivalent in one of the following: Assembler - Installer, Senior, Electrical and Electronic Bench Mechanic/Installer, Systems Checkout Mechanic, Electrical Checkout Mechanic, or related inspection classifications.
Desired Skills:
Experience with Welding inspection.
Familiarity with LM Quality Systems.
Familiarity with conductivity and hardness verification
Familiarity with discrepancy documentation
Competency in Microsoft office suite and basic computer skills
Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
