SUPERINTENDENT

Reports to: Project Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):

  • Consult with architect, engineer, builder, trade contractors, and clients on job progress, plan revisions and change orders.
  • Perform daily walk-throughs on active jobsites. Take overall responsibility for keeping sites tidy during construction. Schedule municipal inspections.
  • Explain safety program to field employees and trade contractors, and make sure they follow it.
  • Guide and direct field employees, trade contractors, and suppliers. Assist trade contractors with tasks, when necessary.
  • Explain quality control standards and supervise their implementation. Make sure Projects are built to quality standards. Strive for no punch list items at substantial completion.
  • Keep builder and project manager informed of each projects production status. Update schedule as necessary and produce weekly production reports.
  • Order materials and supplies and schedule deliveries. Receive, inspect, and verify all deliveries.
  • Notify trade contractors and material suppliers far enough in advance to assure materials are delivered and trade contractors arrive on schedule.
  • Communicate with customers on jobsites. Answer their questions and ensure that construction meets their expectations. Note any deficiencies and take corrective action as needed or provide list for punch list.
  • Conduct pre-closing walk-throughs with customers and customer service/warranty coordinator. Coordinate punch list work.

Other Skills and Qualifications Good interpersonal skills are necessary to build effective working relationships with employees, contractors and other company suppliers or vendors.

Qualifications: High school education or equivalent; must be able to pass a drug test; 3-5 years field experience in construction or as an individual contributor or overseer. Associates or Bachelors degree preferred. Basic knowledge of Microsoft office and writing job reports. Able to read plans and anticipate project requirement to reduce mistake and downtime.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (Occasionally Saturday if needed)
