The paramedic in the ED, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse or ED Physician, is responsible for the delivery of certain elements of patient care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients. Responsible for assisting in patient care in accordance with VA scope of practice. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient care outcomes. Utilizes knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity in the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality patient care through the performance of improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcome in patient care.
Education:
High School Graduate or equivalent. Must be able to read, comprehend medical terminology, and communicate effectively with others.
Experience:
Prior experience in the emergency medical field preferred.
Licenses/Certificates:
Current BLS
Maintain current Paramedic certification
Maintain current ACLS
