Legal Assistants directly support lawyers and may be required to supervise other legal staff, such as legal secretaries or file clerks.Legal Assistants should have computer and technical knowledge as well as strong analytical, communication and organizational skills.Some law firms prefer three to five years of legal experience in a law firm or other corporate legal department.

How you will make an impact

- Review originals documents and checking if copies are true

- Develop organization system for matter management and record keeping

- Organize documents and assemble data as directed by lawyers and paralegals

- Maintain computer database input and retrieval

- Check through and retrieve electronic documents from a variety of court and agency web sites

- E-Filing

- Produce correspondence and memorandum

- Maintain documents for photocopying/scanning in an organized fashion

- Stay on top of legal research and investigative tasks, including obtaining information or documents from outside parties, as directed

- Maintain word processing, filing and faxing

- Experience assisting lawyers in preparing for transactional closings, depositions, hearings, trials and conferences; completing many administrative tasks, including, working on individual cases or transactions

- Investigating the factual evidence of a transaction or case and preparing exhibits, charts and diagrams to display information

- Conducting routine discovery

- Commercial real estate experience

- Closing experience highly desired

- Real estate experience preferred

- Proficiency in residential real estate

- Commercial real estate experience preferred

- Drafting legal court documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits and subpoenas; transactional documents, such as trusts, wills, contracts and real estate leases; and closing documents

- Organizing and tracking files for important transactions or case documents, including pleadings and voluminous discovery documents; creating and maintaining a case-management database

- 1+ years of previous legal work experience and a dedication to integrity
