OB Nurse Manager - St Mary
*Employment Type:* Full time *Shift:* *Description:* SummaryThe primary objective of this position is to improve quality. Responsible for assigned unit(s) actively over a twenty-four (24) hour period including the development and implementation of both standards of care and a quality improvement plan for OB Department and Maternal Fetal medicine.Required: PA RN License, BSN, MSN Preferred, OB Certification, 5 Years of Management Experience* Recruits, selects and counsels staff.* Disciplines staff as appropriate and documents accordingly.* Establishes performance expectation, assesses employee performance, gives feedback and conducts timely performance appraisals.* Consistently & fairly interprets and enforces Human Resources’ policies & procedures and refers to appropriate person if necessary.* Is sensitive to individual employee differences.* Mentors staff.* Empowers, motivates, and coaches employees.* Oversees the planning & maintaining of staff competencies in a timely manner with appropriate documentation.* Oversees staff and department in-services and orientation.* Ensures that all mandatory requirements have been communicated to the staff for compliance.* Develops Quality Improvement plan for Unit/area of responsibility.* Monitors unit indicators.* Maintains compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements.* Oversees the development, maintenance and administration of department/unit policies and procedures.* Enforces all Medical Center policies and procedures.* Develops and monitors the budget, prepares variance analysis and evaluates opportunities for cost reductions.* Resolves conflicts, disagreements and complaints in a constructive manner.* Promotes team-building skills and fosters communication & coordination among individuals, department/units and appropriate Management team, * Communicates effectively both in writing and orally.* Conducts staff meetings on a regular basis and disseminates information.* Investigates & responds appropriately to all complaints and recommends corrective action if necessary.* Demonstrates behaviors that promote positive customer relations with physicians, staff, patients & visitors.* Assesses own strengths, weaknesses and seeks development as needed.* Adapts management style to accommodate a change in situations & people.* Makes timely decisions while considering a variety of factors in selecting alternative solutions.* Takes action and risks when needed.* Knows how and when to refer decisions to others.* Prioritizes workload for maximum efficiency.*Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion*Trinity Health is a family of 115,000 colleagues and nearly 26,000 physicians and clinicians across 25 states.
