Primary Responsibilities:
At Optum Labs, we collaborate with academic and health advocacy partners to solve some of healthcare’s most complex problems. We work with the largest linked claims and clinical data sets available and drive a collaborative agenda that leverages the power of convening across our diverse set of partners. In this role you will be responsible for identifying the questions and capabilities needed to deliver high-value research and thought leadership, recruiting experts to join our diverse advisory panels to support new and existing research projects, and developing amplification strategies that highlight the impact of our work with internal and external audiences.
- Work across our academic and advocacy partners to develop thought leadership forums
- Translate priority domain areas into defined research questions and hypotheses
- Develop relationships with key clinical and business leaders to advise on research opportunities and translate the results considering their impact on the health system
- Identify and recruit external experts to support and collaborate on key research projects in conjunction with the Research & Clinical Team
- Drive the communication efforts to amplify the results of key projects through content development via newsletters, internal and external forums, white papers/press opportunities
- Drive the action items from the leadership forums with our academic and advocacy partners
- Develop and enhance well documented operational processes and process flows that support program development
- Manage cross-functional team dependencies at the organization level

Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in public health, health administration, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of progressive experience in healthcare setting (e.g., payer, health services company and/or provider organization)
- 5+ years of experience leading and influencing program design and development.
- Experience building enterprise relationships and driving business results through cross functional partnerships.
- Track record taking ownership, acting with urgency, putting customers first, looking to the future, and getting things done
- Ability to develop and write narrative summaries. (Samples of work submitted with application preferred)

- Experience in complex relationship management involving multiple stakeholders
- Experience adapting and flexing style of collaboration with key stakeholders in setting direction
- Analytical expertise and experience evaluating, synthesizing key findings from the medical literature
- Passion for health care and driving health system change in a complex organization
- Excellent communications skills - information design, writing, data visualization, verbal
- Excellent project management skills
- Deep curiosity related to the health care marketplace and continuous mining of health system intelligence
- Ability to gain credibility, influence, and partner with business leaders over time.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $113,500 to $218,100. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $113,500 to $218,100. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
