Senior Vice President, Proprietary Cards FP&A
Position Summary
The Senior Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) for Proprietary Cards will report into the Head of FP&A for the US Branded Cards, and support both the Proprietary Card business Lead Finance Officer (LFO), as well as the business team. This role will have responsibility for driving Planning (Annual Operating Plan, Outlook refreshes, etc.) and Analysis (variances v. benchmarks, trends) for Citis Proprietary Card portfolio, which includes the Thank You, Double Cash, and Custom Cash products. The candidate will provide business counsel and work cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Risk, Accounting, Decision Management and Finance to drive Forward Looking projections, and provide business insights into variances, and sources of opportunity or potential risk to the Proprietary Card business.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Proprietary Card business through daily counsel, analysis, forecasting, strategic planning, and business development activities. Provide all aspects of financial oversight including budgeting, reporting and planning.
Manage a small team of financial analysts across both domestic and international locations
Accountability for development of Forward Looking projections, partnering across multiple teams to create a cohesive message
Help drive Citis Transformation efforts as it relates to financial Planning process and tools
Work with Product leadership to manage through financial issues and to achieve strategic and tactical financial targets.
Partner cross-functionally with Business leadership to assess business drivers, P&L performance and to maintain a high standard of controls
Drive Expense discipline and assist in evaluation of investment opportunities.
Monitor and analyze the performance of the portfolio versus expectations and effectively communicate performance to Card and Finance Senior Management with clear, timely updates through periodic business reviews.
Prepare presentation materials for Senior Management with insights on product portfolio performance.
Along with business partners, drive key strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing returns
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA a plus
10+ years of relevant experience in financial services with a focus in consumer banking, preferably in a large complex organization with responsibilities across multiple businesses
Conversant in accounting, treasury, tax and legal implications with regards to decisions being made on product financials
Ability to build strong relationships and interact at all levels in the organization
Experience managing, leading, and developing a small, high performing team
Strategic thinker with ability to work independently with business partners
Ability to influence senior executives while working through ambiguity
Demonstrated skill as a change agent (process, tool)
Excellent interpersonal, communication (written, presentation, verbal) and leadership skills with a strong attention to detail
Strong financial excel modeling skills with the ability to drive top down strategic and operational plans
Hyperion SmartView suite of tools, as well as Tableau a plus
