Please review the following job description:
The Managing Director of Equity Strategy leads IAG's equity investment strategies and guidance portfolios, directs equity research support for advisors with customized discretionary or non-discretionary equity holdings across all Truist Wealth channels, and oversees equity business risk management tools such as approved lists.
1. Responsible for the management of all internal equity models and strategies
2. Direct the equity research support for advisors customizing equity portfolios for clients on a discretionary or non-discretionary basis.
3. Oversee the development and maintenance of approved purchase, retention and sell lists customized to meet channel-specific business needs.
4. Manage research staff and fulfill Principal Manager functions.
5. Represent Truist Wealth's equity investment capabilities to internal and external clients
6. Oversee third party equity research providers and utilization in proprietary tools.
7. Provide input and collaborate with the Portfolio Strategy team on issues related to individual equities
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related discipline or field of study.
2. Minimum of 15 years of experience in portfolio management, equity research and/or analysis.
3. Existing Investment Advisory Representative registration (Series 65) or knowledge and professional skills to meet registration requirements or waiver qualifications (such as CFA or CFP).
4. Strong investment acumen, critical thinking skills, and knowledge of foundational investment concepts.
5. Deep understanding of fundamental equity analysis and equity portfolio performance drivers.
6. Thorough understanding of the sources of investment risk and risk management tools and techniques.
7. Proficiency with investment analytical tools such as Factset, Bloomberg, and Excel to facilitate investment analysis.
8. Proficiency with MS Office communications tools such as Word and PowerPoint to develop or edit written collateral materials supporting equity models and strategies.
9. Ability to effectively communicate investment concepts, strategies and results to PWM teammates, business leaders, and clients.
Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the required qualifications:
1. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or other related field.
2. 15+ years of equity portfolio management and/or research experience.
3. Experience leading a team of highly skilled investment professionals who work both independently and collaboratively to manage strategies.
4. Significant written and oral communications experience, including presentations in small and large group settings.
