3rd Shift Finishing Supervisor - Bilingual

SUMMARY

Provides leadership and direction for the Finishing and Shipping Departments on assigned shift in English and Spanish.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Supports team to ensure all orders are produced accurately and on time.

Provides guidance, direction and technical troubleshooting assistance to Finishing Machine

Operators on assigned team.

Back-up for shipping department personnel; May be called upon to operate lift truck. Assists Operators with difficult jobs as required.

Reads job specifications and selects correct dies, cores and rewind method for job.

Accurately sets rotary blades on machine shaft, according to width specified for strips, and turns setscrew to secure blades in position per machine operating instructions.

Mounts roll of material on machine supports and threads material over tension bar, between feed rollers and under rotary blades.

Observes flow of material through machine to detect irregular cutting and winding. Inspects product for print quality, removing sub-standard product from finished rolls. Operates equipment to stop, start and regulate speed of machine and to align material with

rotary blades.

Disengages winding shaft and removes narrow rolls of material. Completes paperwork for each finish/rewind job.

Prepares shipping paperwork as necessary. Schedules shipments with common carriers and assures product ships as scheduled.

May package finished goods for shipment to customer.

Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and complete paperwork. Fluency in Spanish and the ability to translate to English is a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to read and interpret ruler, scales and other measurement devices.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Position may require a Lift Truck Operator's Certification.
