Lead Paralegal [Regulatory & Risk Division]

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Paralegal as part of the Regulatory & Risk division. The successful candidate will provide strategic and administrative support across Regulatory & Risk to implement the division's priorities and objectives. In this role, you will:
  • Provide subject matter expertise in a specialized area of law, researches and resolves issues and matters involving the most substantial legal and factual complexity, through examination of documentation, investigation and analysis
  • Work independently on the most complex assignments, including client inquiries, transactions and projects, claims, disputes, cases and proceedings, and produces concise written materials for clients, attorneys or outside counsel
  • Support highly complex areas within the department requiring advanced analytical, written and oral communication, and organizational skills
  • Provide support across functions and business lines
  • Identify and resolve issues which may impact multiple business lines or the enterprise
  • Work closely with risk, compliance and audit, responding to reporting inquiries
  • Engage directly with regulatory or other external agency contacts
  • Recognize and properly escalate significant matters
  • Work directly with clients to understand needs and develops strategic plans to identify and resolve issues
  • Identify underlying issues and works independently on the most complex assignments
  • Lead initiatives within the Legal Department, including developing or improving key processes
  • Provide support to attorneys and business lines
  • Collaborate and consult with internal partners to resolve inquiries and issues
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 5+ years of Paralegal experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
  • Experience identifying specific as well as broad underlying issues in area of expertise and work independently on very complex assignments without direct supervision
  • Experience working in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Advanced research skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to work at one of our approved job posting locations
  • Ability to work hybrid schedule, in office at least 3 days a week
  • Paralegal certification may be required in some states
