Job Description

Pay: $18-$20 an hour based on experience and paid sick time

Paid time off, Medical, Dental and Vision insurance for full-time emplolyees

Summary:

LM Restaurant Group is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and positive Line Cook to join our team. A Line Cook is responsible for ensuring sanitation and safety in the kitchen and preparing quality items for the guest. You will be responsible for food preparation, proper cooking techniques, sanitation and stocking. LM Restaurant Group values their employees by providing a safe, constructive and positive work environment.

Essential Functions:

Set up, stock and breakdown of station

Ability to read order tickets

Ability to complete prep lists

Follow recipes and direction

Properly prepare and store food to ensure quality and freshness

Perform portion control and minimize waste

Learn full menu including allergens in each menu item

Use of kitchen machinery

Sanitation

Maintain a clean work station throughout entire shift

Ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude

Complete opening and closing side work

Stocking

Occasionally assist with dishwashing duties

Any additional tasks assigned by management

Knowledge:

Advanced food preparation techniques including butchering

Sanitary food handling

Food production

Cook times

Cook temperatures

Kitchen machinery including but not limited to cook top, oven, fryer, dishwasher, vac-seal, and sous-vide


Skills:

Teamwork

Multi tasking

Attention to detail

Organization

Active listening skills

Basic communication skills in English

Physical Demand:

Must be able to stand for 8+ hours

Ability to lift up to 40 pound regularly and 60 pounds on occasion

Ability to walk, stand, kneel, reach, climb, balance, stoop, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend, twist, squat, and do repetitive motions regularly throughout shift

Ability to safely use sharp tools like knives on a regular basis

Ability to safely use fire and hot cooking oil for cooking purposes

Ability to carry heavy boxes

Ability to work in hot and cool conditions

Exposure to chemicals and cleaning products

Ability to work in a fast paces environment

Ability to stay calm under pressure

Well groomed, professional appearance

Required Education and Experience:

1+ years Line Cook experience in a trendy high-volume restaurant

Food Handlers certification within 30 days of employment

Allergen certification preferred

High School diploma/GED preferred

Completion of vocational or culinary school preferred
