Primary Responsibilities:
The Coding Implementation Director will lead new client coding operations to ensure the standard operating model and technology are implemented in accordance with the project plan. Will work closely with the new client leadership team, coding operations leadership, and coding technology team to ensure a successful transition and transformation occur.
- Collaborate with Solution Design team and Finance on pre-sale activities
- Ensure all discovery activities are completed prior to commencement date
- Lead coding transition and transformation efforts post commencement date to support implementing the coding standard operating model until hand off to coding operations team
- Client POC for all coding related activities
- POC with eCAC technology team for all coding operational requirements
- DNFC during transition and transformation phases and ensure process are in place to reduce any impacts due to staffing or technology implementation
- Partner with Director of Coding Quality and Education for to ensure all coder audit activities, e.g., HAC/PSI, new hire pre-bill audits, follow-up audits, high-risk DRG audits, etc. are completed
- Partner with Coding Resource Director for any staffing or coding vendor support that is required

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of equivalent work experience
- Professional coder certification with credentialing from AHIMA and/or AAPC (CCS, RHIA, RHIT) to be maintained annually
- 5+ years of experience in coding operations/implementation management experience in a large multi-specialty hospital or equivalent health related organization
- Experience with OCE, MUE and NCCI classification and reimbursement structures
- Encoder experience, preferably with eCAC or 3M

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a level I trauma center and/or teaching hospital with a mastery of complex procedures, major trauma ER encounters, cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, orthopedic and neurology cases, transplant, and observation coding
- Experience with eCAC or 3M
- Experience working as a consultant and/or with coding vendors
- Successful experience in working within a multifaceted organization
- Intermediate level of experience with Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency with MS Office applications and electronic medical records systems
- Demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships, effectively manage competing priorities, and accurately complete highly detailed work
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and medical staff
- Ability to use a PC in a Windows environment, including MS Excel and EMR systems
- Proven communication, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills
This is a virtual, remote, position that requires candidates to be highly organized, self-starters, well-versed in technical applications. Previous success in a remote environment is preferred.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900.
