Job Title: Manager of Joint Venture & Technical Accounting

Location: US-IL-Burr Ridge

Overview:

Reporting to the Global Head of External Reporting and Technical Accounting (US GAAP), the Manager of Joint Venture & Technical Accounting will support a wide variety of technical accounting areas such as joint venture accounting, stock-based compensation, restructuring and benefits. Additionally, this person will be responsible for the investigation and resolution of technical accounting matters affecting our global business while working closely with cross-functional teams in addition to the broader accounting organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the Company's financial accounting and reporting activities related to joint venture accounting including the coordination with joint venture accounting teams and the joint ventures.
  • Coordinates the Company's financial accounting and reporting activities related to restructuring accounting including the analysis of restructuring charges, maintaining adequate supporting documentation and ensuring the necessary management approval of restructuring actions.
  • Prepares journal entries and/or analysis for quarterly and annual transactions.
  • Researches and prepares technical accounting memos to support the resolution of accounting issues and proper handling of new transactions.
  • Assists in the preparation of the financial statements and footnotes under US GAAP including Annual Report on Form 20-F, Quarterly Reports and registration statements.
  • Works with the external auditors to address accounting and reporting issues, review of financial statements and footnotes and other matters as needed.
  • Provides technical accounting expertise for other complex areas including revenue recognition, leasing, intangible assets, inventory, restructuring, stock-based compensation, benefits etc.
  • Provides formal and informal U.S. GAAP and accounting policy training to the global Finance function.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, CPA licensure and 6+ years professional technical accounting experience including working for a Big 4 public accounting firm servicing large publicly traded, international manufacturing entities and/or private industry experience with a large publicly traded international manufacturing company.
  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the financial reporting process, U.S. GAAP technical accounting, SEC compliance and financial systems.

Preferred skills:

  • Strong people skills and the ability to effectively communicate (oral and written) with all levels of management (as well as external auditors, attorneys, underwriters).
  • Strong written communication skills primarily in writing technical accounting memos.
  • Experience and success working in a team environment, initiative to organize workload, set priorities and ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Knowledge of HFM and IFRS.

Role is eligible for hybrid work environment with three (3) days onsite at our offices in Burr Ridge, IL and two (2) day remote/home office.
