Corporate Relations Officer
The Corporate Relations Officer is focused on building and sustaining mutually beneficial relationships that generate support from corporations to help OMSI achieve its mission and strategic goals. This position will work closely with members of the Development team and leadership on the identification, solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship of major donors and prospects. The Corporate Relations Officer will be an entrepreneurial self-starter able to work independently and as part of a highly collaborative team.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of corporate partners to reach annual revenue goals for corporate funding for operations and capital campaigns;
- Work collaboratively across the museum to identify funding opportunities, coordinate mutually beneficial partnerships with corporate partners for events, exhibits, and programs;
- Coordinate corporate relations strategy for annual giving as well as building and developing pipelines and strategy for capital campaigns;
- Maintain and grow relationships in the community to grow the corporate supporter base;
- Incorporate DEI initiatives in corporate partnership stewardship and activities;
- Write and develop proposals for corporate funding, memberships and sponsorships;
- Consistently use and maintain records for tracking of corporate relationships in Salesforce;
- Support corporate relationship development through the OMSI leadership team, development committee, and board;
Working Conditions
- This position is exempt paid, salaried;
- This position is regular full-time scheduled for 40 hours/week:
- This position may require occasionally working on some weekends, holidays, and/or evenings.
- Requires working onsite at the museum location.
- Physical Demands: 60% standing, 25% sitting, 15% lifting/carrying/pushing 20 lbs;
- You must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or qualify for an accommodation under the ADA for medical or religious reasons.

Secondary Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support corporate volunteer engagement;
- Participate in museum wide meetings and projects;
- Develop communications and recognition plans for corporate partnerships;
- Support partnership development for other lines of business like events, retail etc;
- Support fundraising and fundraising events in other lines of development revenue;

- Proficient or native fluency in a second language (non-English);

Education & Work Experience
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience;
- 3 years of cumulative experience with increasing responsibility:
- Business development or development experience, preferably in corporate fundraising;
- Multiple project management experience with a focus on relationship stewardship.
PREFERENCES:
- Experience working with volunteers.
