Assistant Branch Manager - 40 hours Burbank CA

At Bank of the West, our people are having a positive impact on the world. We’re investing where we feel we can make the most impact, like advancing diversity and women entrepreneurship programs, financing for more small businesses, and promoting programs for sustainable energy. From our locations across the U.S., Bank of the West is taking action to help protect the planet, improve people’s lives, and strengthen communities. We are part of BNP Paribas, a global leader supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To protect the health and safety of our employees and customers, Bank of the West requires all U.S. employees to provide proof of their vaccination status. Employees who are not fully vaccinated must undergo regular testing beginning May, 2022.

What you’ll do

As part of Bank of the West, you’ll be making a positive impact on the environment, your community, and the planet at a leading sustainable bank.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and personable leader with significant banking experience to fill the role of Assistant Branch Manager. This is a high-responsibility leadership role that supports the Branch Manager.

As an Assistant Branch Manager, you will be responsible for handling transactions, identifying areas of need, and developing new account relationships while expanding existing ones. You won’t have formal management duties, but you will fill in for the Branch Manager in their absence, and guide branch staff on sales, services, and lobby management.

Broad responsibilities mean this is a role that’s never boring. One day you might coordinate sales activities. The next day you might accept items for collection, lead end-of-day activities, and handle vault duties. Other fundamental parts of the job will include transaction processing, new account sales, customer servicing, and referral generation.

As the Branch Manager’s second-in-command, you’ll give input on hiring, staff Human Resource matters, annual performance targets, and evaluation feedback. You’ll also be a mentor to more junior branch staff, helping them to develop their own skills.
