Icon Foods is looking for a focused industry sales leader responsible for all aspects of the sales/customer interface including translating business strategy into sales tactics and account plans, acting as “the voice of the customer” inside the organization. Understand customer, market and competitor trends and communicating the same back to the organization. You will be expected to develop and maintain personal relationships with the key decision makers at key accounts. But, you probably already know this.
You will manage a portfolio of current business with key accounts and generate new business with new customers. Nurture existing key account relationships and develop additional relationships with new customers. Manage role as primary point of contact between the organization and the customer. Manage customer problems to resolution. Partner with other departments within the organization to bring satisfaction to key accounts.
Major Responsibilities:
- Create and sustain long-term customer relationships by securing new business and nurturing partnerships with existing clients.
- Customer relationships with Purchasing, R&D & Marketing
- Customer Profiles Relationship Plans and Targets
- Achieving customer targeted volume and price goals
- Identifies and targets growth opportunities by customer with resource plans to support customer growth objectives
- Sales growth and increased share at key customers
- Contract and pricing management of customers including key contract negotiations
- Supporting and track customer opportunities
- Key interface between our customers and Technical Support
- Strong contributor to the development and identification of growth opportunities and competitive threats via customer and market understanding and communicating the same back to the organization.
- Volume forecasts from customer base
Required Skills:
- A minimum of 2 years food ingredient experience in Sales. (unless you can show us you will crush it)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the food industry, calling on other food manufacturers.
- A bachelor’s business or food science preferred but not necessary.
- Ability to discuss technical concepts with R&D and convey features and benefits to purchasing and upper management.
- Food Application experience with customer R&D preferred.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills including dispute resolution.
- Demonstrated experience in sales growth with new products
- Highly developed communication skills appropriate for all business situations.
- Demonstrated skills in negotiating in difficult and complex situations.
- Able to drive opportunity development and prioritize & manage multiple projects in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; strong personal presence both with customers and internally to company.
Salary plus generous commissions: $60,000 base plus commissions and bonuses. We are offering a $2,500 signing bonus for anyone who receives a job offer from us before March 15th.

Position Requirements
- Reside in the Pacific Northwest and legal to work in the United States
- Have a US driver’s license
- Ability to travel extensively throughout designated territory
- 5-7 or more years sales experience in the food, ingredient or natural products industry
- Bachelor’s degree in business related field or equivalent skills, knowledge and abilities
- Have strong relationships with the food manufactures, institutions, distributors, brokers, and retail store buyers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent computer knowledge
- Ability to attend trade shows and sales meetings
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and plan time wisely
- Must be a self-starter requiring minimal direct supervision in the execution of responsibilities
- Be goal-oriented and strive to exceed established goals
- Be a team player – work well with other members of the sales and corporate teams
- Be customer-oriented and responsive to their needs
- Be aware of market trends/competition and conveys information, as appropriate, to the other sales members and/or corporate marketing
- Be accountable
We require that our Sales Manager and sales associates use Monday.com. This is an on-line CRM (Customer Relations Management) system. You will record contacts, create sales projections and client interaction. We are looking for a rainmaker.
