Job Summary

This position will provide support to IWC Carriers through a variety of duties to include but not limited to the following:

Duties and Responsibilities

Overall Duties:

The primary duties for this position will be transporting product in a safe, efficient, timely and professional manner. Drivers will load and offload fuel to designated terminals, railcars or other designated sites.

  • Comply with federal, state and company truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking etc) as well as with company policies and procedures
  • Follow through with all required paperwork, processes and follow through for BOL’s, Samsara, carrier paperwork.
  • Follows through with pre and post trip inspections as required by law and company policy.
  • Obtain documentation, and/or receipts for reimbursement of expenses
  • Report any accidents or vehicle issues encountered while driving or performing work related issues to your supervisor immediately.
  • Must be familiar with Shipping Paperwork, placard use and placement, blocking and bracing, incident reporting.
  • Operates a semi-truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
  • Transports loads by required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations.
  • Manoeuvres truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; follows loading crew signals.
  • Facilitates routine service on trucks by performing daily vehicle inspection, which may include checking oil, water, diesel, and air. Check for any damage or maintenance problems (tire wear, dents, etc.) and report any issues right away.
  • Report maintenance malfunctions to your supervisor.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications, Experience and Education:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with vendors, customers and staff at delivery points.
  • Ability to remain focused in busy environment.
  • Must possess and maintain a current valid CDL driver’s license (CDL) with tank and hazmat endorsements for the state of Texas, valid TWIC Card, and maintain current medical card.
  • Must be able to pass physical exam, background check, DMV check, and drug testing as required by FMCSA and TXDOT regulations.
  • Must exhibit professionalism in appearance and performance
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
  • Must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and DOT Physical.
  • Physically fit and able to sit for long time periods, perform truck maintenance, lift 25 pounds comfortably
  • Must have extensive experience to maneuverer a truck in tight and uneven terrain.
  • Good attendance and punctuality is required.
  • Must be safety conscious and follow all safety and health regulations to include wearing required PPE.
  • High attention to detail, ability to understand and execute instructions.
  • Excellent attendance and customer service skills required

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to maintain professionalism when dealing with challenging managers, clients, and vendors.
  • Will be required to occasional work around or in Operation/Terminal areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, evenings, weekends and/or holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to maintain professionalism when dealing with challenging managers, employees, clients, vendors and co-workers.
  • Must be able to work in areas exposed to various climates such as extreme heat or cold.

  • Vision required includes close & distance vision with the ability to adjust focus.
  • Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to travel frequently.
