Maintenance Technician- ( 3-Month Contract)



Job Description

Salary: $28/hourly

OBJECTIVE

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for day-to-day equipment preventative maintenance and troubleshooting wherever required within the Atlanta facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Millwright Certificate
  • Current CWB license/ticket (SMAW, GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG) an asset
  • Current license for Forklift, Skyjack, Fall Arrest

Experience & Skills:

  • 2 -3 years experience in an industrial maintenance or automotive mechanic role, preferably within the food industry
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Experience reading, comprehending and utilizing blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings for industrial millwrighting
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and perform maintenance on various equipment
  • Ability to work at heights and within confined spaces
  • Knowledge and understanding in the use of conveyors, PLCs, welding processes and equipment, drill press, packaging machinery, trailers, scales, grinders, hand and power tools, impact guns, bench grinders, and band saws
  • Good knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
  • Proficient in Word/Excel/Outlook
  • Positive attitude and ability to problem solve
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs as required
  • Flexibility and willingness to work overtime as required


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Execute preventative maintenance program as per schedule on all equipment, building and machinery.
  2. Conduct diagnostic checks, troubleshooting, and repair for all equipment, plant wide (mechanical, electrical and programmable logic controllers).
  3. Install, align, take apart and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools
  4. Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery as required
  5. Operate welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools as required and authorized.
  6. Perform general building maintenance.
  7. Work in a safe manner in accordance with all company policies and procedures as well as occupational health and safety laws.
  8. Report any health & safety risks to Operations Manager.
  9. Other duties as required by the Operations Manager.

PHYSICAL RESPONBILITIES

Employee must have the ability to engage in the following for a period of 8 hours or more continuously or in combination of the following task: Sitting, standing, walking, driving, climbing/ladders, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs multiple times per shift, fingering, talking, hearing, and seeing.
