RAMP - Maintenance Technician Trainee

About the Program:

You will gain real-world experience and earn your Associate Degree in Advanced Manufacturing Technology in 18 months with a cohort of like-minded classmates and co-workers. At Kalmbach Feeds the RAMP maintenance technician trainee gains hands on experience performing highly diversified duties including installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining production facility equipment. Through the program you will gain the confidence to operate with a high level of autonomy as well as a positive and proactive approach to work. In the RAMP program you will attend Owens Community College two days per week, working with Kalmbach Feeds the remaining two days (approx. 24 hrs). The successful candidate must work effectively with all departments, management and employees. In this program In the program you will learn:

• To repair, replace, remove, and/or modify manufacturing structures and equipment to correct feed manufacturing problems of a mechanical, electrical, and/or structural nature.
• To maintain accurate daily records of all work performed daily in the computerized maintenance management system
• Knowledge of PLC
• To wear a full face respirator and pass pulmonary testing
• To operate tow motors, pallet jacks, aerial man lifts
• To assess, diagnose, and evaluate feed manufacturing problems of a mechanical, electrical, and/or structural nature.
• To perform preventative maintenance (e.g. lubrication, inspection, etc.) for feed manufacturing structures and equipment.
• To maintain work area, tools, parts, and equipment in a clean and organized manner for the purposes of safety, efficiency, and appearance.
• To perform other related corrective maintenance functions or duties as needed.

Who You Are:

• Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent
• Interested in earning your associates degree in advance manufacturing technology
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds minimum.
• Must be able to work on raised platforms and high area
• Must be able to work in a dusty environment
• Must having a valid driver’s license with no suspensions
• Some tasks will be outside in all kinds of weather
• Safety/OSHA knowledge.
• Ability to meet tight schedules and handle multiple assignments.
