Lincolnton, NC Conversion, Customizing and Packaging Center is located

approximately 30 miles from Charlotte. The facility employs just under 400+ full

time associates in a 5-shift operation, which encompasses 235,000 sq ft. along

with 12,000 skus. In addition to the conversion, customizing and packaging

activities, abrasives are now a big part of our power tool accessory business.

Job Description

This is a third shift position reporting to the Quality Manager.

Perform in-process and final inspections for various manufacturing and conversion operations, such as torque testing, tensile testing, etc.

Dimensionally inspect parts as defined in QA Inspection Plans and Work Instructions using required measuring equipment (comparators, micrometers, calipers, etc.).

Address and document nonconformities as necessary, including follow up.

Use SAP system for material inquiries, create and complete manual inspection lots, product movement.

Maintain accurate quality records (MS Excel, SAP, etc.).

Participate in internal quality system audits.

Perform product audits, reconciliation activities, such as reporting detailed component information, quantity results, etc.

Perform other essential duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Preferred 3+ years of prior inspection or QA experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with a logical though process and attention to detail.

  • Ability to inspect product characteristics according to established inspection plans using drawings, specifications and artwork then determine the disposition of goods in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

  • Experience reading part drawings and the use of common measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, as well as the ability to learn complex measurement devices.

  • Working knowledge with software such as MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc). Experience with SAP a plus.

  • High school graduate or equivalent from an accredited school (ex. PA Department of Education, FL Department of Education, US Military).

  • Valid drivers license is required.

  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and email) with associates at all levels within the facility and overall organization.

  • Ability to work independently - self starter.

  • Familiar with ISO or similar quality system requirements.
