Description
The registered dietitian (RD) is responsible for the nutritional intervention for a variety of oncology out-patients. The RD functions as an integral member of the clinical interdisciplinary team by providing nutrition services and medical nutritional therapy integrated with the medical goals of cancer patients. The RD will work closely with Cancer Patient Support Services, including Integrative Medicine, Exercise Physiology, Social Workers, Psychologists, ARNPs and Nurse Navigators. The RD recommends appropriate medical nutrition therapy based on the diagnosis of the patient, disease stage and nutritional status. The RD educates patients, family and significant others on nutritional guidelines to follow before, during and after cancer treatment as needed. The RD contributes to departmental achievements through process improvement. The RD documents nutritional interventions including plan of care using the Nutrition Care Process in the electronic medical record of the patient. The RD functions as a nutrition educator and conducts programs for LCI patients, family and caregivers.
Estimated salary range for this position is %2451,194.00- %2466,552.20 / year depending on experience.
Qualifications
Degrees: Bachelors Licenses Certifications: Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) CDR Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist Additional Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Nutrition or similar degree required. Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Commission on Dietetic Registration and Florida State Licensure (LD/N). Certified in area of oncology nutrition (CSO) or to obtain within 1 year of employment. If not certified at time of hiring, Masters degree in Science Nutrition is required. This position requires direct patient care through nutritional screening, assessment, intervention and care planning. Clinical nutrition experience in an oncology setting required. Excellent communication skills with solid writing abilities, critical thinking, public speaking, computer skills and service excellence. This position requires a high degree of self-initiation, exceptional organizational, time management and solving skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Minimum Required Experience:
