General Manager
This position is responsible for both the Financial (Accounting) and Human Resource/General Affairs duties and responsibilities of each separate department. Directs the financial affairs of the organization and prepares financial analysis of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management. The General Manager, Finance & General Affairs is responsible for the company’s accounting practices. The position involves supervision over general accounting, internal & external auditing, cost accounting, and budgetary controls. Takes initiative to identify and solve problems. Acts as a coach and mentor to employees. Demonstrates initiative and leadership. Identifies and develops ways to improve work processes, efficiency, and quality. Improve job skills, knowledge, performance, and education. Attend educational programs to keep skills current. Willingness to work extra hours as needed. Human resources officer to develop and direct policies and programs for the company. Major responsibilities include organizational planning, employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, safety, security, and employee services. Originates human resources practices and objectives that will provide a balanced program throughout all divisions. Coordinates implementation through human resources staff. Reports to the Director as the ranking Human Resources Executive in the company. Counsels and advises senior management on human resources issues. Development, analysis, interpretation, and monthly preparation of statistical and accounting information (financial statements) in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization. Responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel in the Finance Department. Maintains & reconciles the company’s system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets. Formulates and recommends Human Resources policies and objectives for the entire company. Updates employee handbooks. Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale. Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources function (OSHA, EEO, ERIS, Wage & Hour, etc.).
Requirements: Bachelors degree in Accounting. Skilled in math, accuracy, and precision, interest in business, organized, willingness to follow recommended procedures, honesty, patience, good written and oral communication skills, good people skills, team player, knowledge of EDP-oriented accounting systems. Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in private industry Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science or information systems or equivalent experience. Knowledge of enterprise wide HRIS/Payroll systems is required. Effective leadership skills that can energize multi-disciplined work teams to respond to business needs; strong analytical problem-solving and conceptual skills. Strong project management skills with experience in organizing, planning and executing large scale projects from the envisioning stage through to implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors and vendors. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills and excellent human resource management skills.
