Looking for an innovative solution architect that will work alongside the enterprise architecture and scrum team to develop and implement systems architecture that will meet business needs. The solution architect’s responsibilities include gathering requirements and functional specifications, assessing the current software systems in place to identify areas in need of improvement, and overseeing development teams executing various sized programs. The solution architect should also be able to regularly update leadership on any developments in systems architecture projects.
Role Description:
- A Solution Architect designs or modifies systems architecture to meet certain business needs. They test, integrate, and program software systems to ensure that specific business issues are solved.
- Responsible for initiating, planning & creating the delivery plan working alongside the scrum teams for the requirements
- Providing technical guidance & supporting the team in the form of overseeing, leading, guiding, and mentoring
- Be able to integrate any updated specifications and requirements into the systems architecture.
- Be able to explain complex problems to leadership in layman’s terms

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership to other IT specialists to rapidly develop and deliver stunning solutions that meet changing business needs
- Perform all necessary discovery and fact finding to fully understand highly complex business problems and opportunities and independently execute all assignments
- Building and integrating information systems to meet UHC’s needs
- Assessing the systems architecture currently in place and working with technical staff to recommend solutions to improve it
- Resolving technical problems as they arise
- Providing supervision and guidance to development teams
- Continually researching current and emerging technologies and proposing changes where needed
- Informing various stakeholders about any problems with the current technical solutions being implemented
- Assessing the business impact that certain technical choices have
- Work alongside delivery leads and RTEs to provide updates to stakeholders on product development processes, costs, and budgets
- Act in a project lead capacity and/or represent the department on enterprise-wise project teams

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, software engineering, computer science, or related field
- Experience in engineering and software architecture design
- In-depth understanding of various coding languages
- Sound knowledge of various operating systems and databases
- Project management experience
- Solid verbal and written communication skills, including solid presentation skills
- Solid organizational and leadership skills
- Self-directed and self motivated

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900.
