Embedded Systems Engineer



Job Description

We are currently seeking to hire an Embedded Systems Engineer to become an integral part of our development team! You will design and test operating systems-level software and network distribution software.

Key Skills:
- 7 years of Systems Engineering experience with embedded controls products (Digital and analog electronic hardware experience).
- Experience with requirements elicitation/analysis
- Understanding of C and C++ programming languages. Experience with 8, 16, and 32 Microcontrollers
- Experience participating in or leading DFMEAs
- Experience with various wireless protocols (Wi-Fi, BLE, Zigbee/CHIP, Zwave, etc.)
- Experience in the use of IBM DOORS, JIRA/Confluence, or AZURE Dev Ops

Key Responsibilities:
• Work closely with marketing and customers to define requirements for smart thermostats and HVAC systems.
• Understanding the systems development life cycle and processes
• Work closely with hardware, firmware, software, validation/reliability, and manufacturing engineering teams.
• Make decisions on tradeoffs in product design between hardware and firmware/software.
• Write specifications, test plans, special test software/scripts for system verification and validation.
• Actively participate in the project planning process (e.g., estimates for project plan tasks, resources, completion time, capital requirements, risks, expenses, etc.)
• Actively participate in DFMEAs.
• Balance sustaining and new product development projects
