F-35 Project Engineer with Security Clearance

For additional company information, please visit: www.mtsi-va.com Responsibilities The F-35 Project Engineer will participate in Systems Engineering activities across all phases of simulation environment development, acquisition, operation, and sustainment for F-35 models instantiated into the environment. The F-35 Simulation Project Engineer will possess the ability to understand F-35 air vehicle system architecture, design and subsystems integration, and mission systems avionics. As an F-35 Project Engineer, the successful candidate will:
• Possess subject matter expert level knowledge of F-35 mission systems design and integration through recent experience as a pilot or engineer in either a test unit (DT or OT), or developmental organization (US Government or contractor).
• Act as the local expert on 5th gen fighter systems, tactics, techniques, procedures, and system use cases.
• Develop and maintain close ties within the JSE development community, F-35 Program Offices (PO), and platform user communities and use these relationships to ensure JSE aircraft/system models remain current with respect to fielded and planned aircraft systems.
• Build a detailed understanding and knowledge of JSE architecture, capabilities, and limitations, and use this knowledge base to advise DT and OT organizations to optimize their use of the JSE.
• Utilize detailed understanding and knowledge of future user needs to guide JSE PO on JSE capability roadmap development and implementation. As a core member of the JSE systems engineering team, a successful applicant will:
•Liaise with JSE customers in the F-35 community, attend working group meetings focused on F-35 future developments, test planning working groups, and OT status briefings with the objective of identifying JSE environment changes needed to host emerging F-35 capabilities. • Decompose high-level JSE system requirements, develop/decompose derived requirements, and present proposed requirements to requirement approval bodies
• Plan and conduct System Requirement Reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews, and Critical design reviews for system and facility acquisition/buildout
• Conduct analysis of alternatives for hardware and software acquisitions
• Coordinate with JSE integration and V&V teams to ensure F-35 focused JSE development efforts needed assets and information to ensure success. As an MTSI employee, the successful applicant will:

Minimum of 5 years of direct hands-on experience with designing, operating, or testing aerospace systems, including a minimum of 3 years working on 5th gen fighter aircraft. Education Requirements:
BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems or similar) The following experience is desired but not required:
• Experience with or knowledge of systems engineering processes and procedures
• Developmental Test and Operational Test operations experience
• Experience planning or executing test programs at the AFTC or other Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB)
• Graduate of an accredited Test Pilot School
• Experience leading cross functional teams comprised of engineering, program management and technicians to successfully execute development and fielding of complex products Clearance Requirements:
Active Secret clearance required. Top Secret clearance and the ability to attain SCI and appropriate program access preferred. US Citizenship required #LI-RR1
